Our Story
The origins of Gynaecology Plus can be traced back to New Zealand’s National Cervical Screening Register, established following the landmark Cartwright Inquiry and the resulting reforms in women’s healthcare.
As one of the world’s first national cervical screening programmes, it introduced rigorous standards for colposcopy practice, clinical governance and auditing. Recognising the pressing need for specialised software to support these requirements, experienced gynaecologists worked closely with us to develop and refine Gynaecology Plus. Through our ongoing partnership with gynaecologists and their support teams we play a key role in supporting the World Health Organisation’s goal to eliminate cervical cancer.
That collaboration between Gynaecology Plus, clinicians and healthcare teams has continued for more than 25 years and remains at the heart of everything we do. Today, Gynaecology Plus supports women’s health services across Australia and New Zealand and is used by clinicians in hospitals and private practices throughout both countries.
In Australia, Gynaecology Plus is one of the few specialist clinical systems chosen to be part of the NSW Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR), Australia’s largest digital health transformation programme. This once-in-a-generation initiative is one of the largest healthcare technology projects in Australasia, connecting hospitals and health services across New South Wales.
Every public hospital in New Zealand and most private practices use Gynaecology Plus to support their colposcopy service, benefiting from greater efficiency, enhanced clinical safety and seamless integration with the National Cervical Screening Register, reflecting the platform’s proven capability, clinical focus and commitment to the highest standards of quality, privacy and patient safety.
We are progressing toward ISO 27001 certification, reinforcing the security and governance standards our healthcare clients expect.
The Gynaecology Plus platform supports a broad range of gynaecology services beyond colposcopy, including hysteroscopy, early pregnancy assessment, endometriosis, gynaecological oncology, termination of pregnancy, general gynaecology, and surgery. It continues to evolve to incorporate new technologies and to meet the changing needs of healthcare providers and their patients.

In New Zealand, integration with the National Cervical Screening Register has been so effective that, in addition to all public hospitals, 70% of NZ private gynaecologists now use Gynaecology Plus. As a result Gynaecology Plus now records and sends to the Register over 95% of all colposcopies performed in New Zealand with a near-term goal of achieving 100%.
